Project opening event

Ropaži Municipality invites you to participate in the opening event of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 Programme “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Cultural Cooperation” programme “Integration-related activities in Mucenieki”, which will take place on 3 March at 10:00 on the ZOOM platform. The event will be held in Latvian with simultaneous translation into English.

The project is implemented by Ropaži Municipality in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development and Elverum Municipality (Norway). The aim of the project is to strengthen integration activities in Mucenieki and the related Reception Centre for Asylum Seekers, promoting multicultural dialogue and closer cooperation between the municipality's communities by providing sports and leisure facilities.

The aim of the launch event is to inform about the importance of the project, the planned objectives, activities and results to be achieved.

The event will be addressed by the Minister of Welfare Gatis Eglītis, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development Gatis Zamurs, Chairperson of the Ropaži Municipality Council Vita Paulāne, Ambassador at the Embassy of Norway in Latvia Kristian Ødegaard, representatives of Elverum Municipality, Head of the Asylum Seekers Accommodation Centre “Mucenieki” Nauris Bērziņš. Natalia Ustinovich (Belarus) and Rana Nur Ulker (Turkey) will share their experience of the integration process. A representative of Ropaži Municipality will inform you about the activities to be carried out in the project.
